Michael Young Appointed As Chief Information Officer

Sony Music Publishing has announced the appointment of Michael Young as Chief Information Officer. Based in Nashville, Young will report to Sony Music Publishing’s Chief Financial Officer Tom Kelly.
In his new role, Young will lead the company’s technology strategy and its ongoing transformation initiatives to advance growth, scalability and efficiency on behalf of SMP songwriters and catalogs worldwide. He will also work closely across departments to optimize workflows, expand data-driven insights, and refine and implement best practices across software development, security, compliance and data governance.

Young brings over twenty-five years of experience in executive IT leadership across the media, financial services, and technology sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Product and Technology Officer at Chatham Financial, where he oversaw global product and technology strategy. Prior to that, he held senior roles at Reuters, Paycase Financial, and Afilias.
