Esteemed Songwriter Jaxson Free Drops "Get Go"

Chart-topping songwriter Jaxson Free has returned to his artist roots with the release of his new single  “Get Go.” With a galloping beat, soothing acoustic guitar and southern inflections, Free captures the feeling of a situationship that never stood a chance. The North Carolina native’s raw and soulful vocals are at the front and center of the song, giving it an emotional weight with tones that are somehow both gravelly and silky.

Following a string of indie releases, Free moved to Nashville from Raleigh, signed to Goat Island and has become an in-demand songwriter; penning hits for Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Lana Del Rey, Quavo and more. Free has three Country No. 1 hits under his belt including Kane and Katelyn Brown’s “Thank God,” Kane Brown’s “I Can Feel It” and “After All The Bars Are Closed” from Thomas Rhett. Produced by Chris LaCorte and written with label-mate Jacob Hackworth as well as Ned Cameron, Adrien Nunez, Chase McDaniel and LaCorte, “Get Go” is Free’s first single release with Goat Island.

“My buddy, Chase, threw out the line ‘she was gone from the get go’ and I immediately thought back to a time I fell for this girl who always seemed like she had her sights somewhere else but I couldn’t help myself and jumped in it headfirst,” shared Jaxson Free. “I feel like we’ve all had that kind of thing where you get lost in the heat of it all and it’s hard to see through the smoke. When you fall for a candle in the wind, you’re left with nothing but ashes in the end.”

Currently working on new music, Free is also gearing up to announce touring plans. For more information follow Jaxson on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube or visit his website here.
