Americana Standout Candi Jenkins Drops “Trucker Speed”

Cloverdale Records’ Candi Jenkins has steadily carved out a place for herself in the rapidly growing Americana scene, and today, June 5, she has debuted a new single, “Trucker Speed.” Originally released by Fred Eaglesmith, this reimagined version delivers a more modern, uptempo energy while preserving everything that made listeners fall in love with the song in the first place.

“’Trucker Speed’ speaks to heartbreak in a way I had never felt before. The first time I heard it, I put it on repeat for weeks,” shares Jenkins. “It’s hard to touch the original version of this song, but we put our own spin on it and attempted to make it even more anthemic. I’m thankful to have had Spencer Cullum Jr. (Miranda Lambert, Ella Langley) on pedal steel and Oliver Craven (Sierra Ferrell) on fiddle – it really sent this song to a new level for me.”

The mark of a true artist is the ability to take what’s in front of them and shape it into something creative, captivating and uniquely personal, and that’s exactly what we find here.
